Maria J. Smith
Clockwise from top rated still left, hardware from Carbon Robotics, Wyze, Pallet, Picnic and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.

Computer software gets a ton of focus in the Seattle region, but how about a hand for components and gizmos that you can actually touch, with your arms?

The Components/Gadget of the Year at the GeekWire Awards is meant to honor a specific product that demonstrated revolutionary engineering and an exemplary user expertise, and has still left a unique mark on the technological innovation landscape.

This year’s nominees are Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, for its Acoustic Gunshot Detection technique Wyze, for its Wyze Cam v3 Carbon Robotics, for its Autonomous Weeder Pallet, for its very small residence shelters and Picnic, for its robotic Pizza System.

Final year’s winner was Seattle-dependent Deako, whose “plug and play” mild switches allow for homebuilders and homeowners to conveniently swap in higher-tech, remotely controlled lighting.

The GeekWire Awards realize the prime innovators and companies in Pacific Northwest technological know-how. Finalists in this class and others ended up picked dependent on local community nominations, alongside with input from GeekWire Awards judges. Community voting across all types will continue on right until April 22, blended with opinions from judges to decide the winner in just about every group.
