Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet on Saturday that the automotive company’s total headcount will boost about the upcoming calendar year, but specified that salaried employees must continue being “fairly flat.”
Musk manufactured the assertion in reply to a person predicting that the company’s headcount would increase.
“Total headcount will increase, but salaried need to be reasonably flat,” Musk wrote.
The tweet comes immediately after Reuters documented that Musk requested Tesla executives in an e-mail on Thursday to “pause all selecting around the world.”
The news company added that Musk reported in another e mail sent to staff members on Friday that he was reducing salaried headcount by 10 percent mainly because the business had come to be “overstaffed in a lot of regions,” adding that “hourly headcount will raise.”
The billionaire reportedly said that he experienced a “super negative feeling” about the U.S. financial state.
Tesla shares fell about 9 p.c on Friday, according to The Connected Press pointed out.
