Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms termed out the Cash Grille soon after, she explained, she was refused support for sporting leggings.
“I was just turned absent at @CapitalGrille at Perimeter Shopping mall since I have on leggings,” she tweeted Friday.
When a person pointed out that the cafe has a costume code, Bottoms explained it was “odd” that it would not make it possible for what she identified as mall apparel when it is at the shopping mall.
“Asked if I could sit in the bar area and was told, ‘No.’. Principles are the policies, just question if the girl who came in quickly soon after me, who I did not see occur back out, was also denied support,” she wrote.
The cafe claims on its site that “for the ease and comfort of all company and to better supply on our assure of a refined environment, right dress is required.” Apparel such as fitness center attire, tank tops, sweatpants, hats and goods “with offensive language” is not allowed, in accordance to the web site.
However, social media consumers rapidly commented that the regulations are not constantly followed and posted photographs of primarily white patrons eating at the Capital Grille sporting just one of the prohibited clothes merchandise.
“BLACK Democrat Mayor of Atlanta (my Buddy) Keisha Lance Bottoms was refused support at @CapitalGrille. But WHITE People in Health and fitness center dresses and T-shirts are entirely fantastic at Cash grille,” actor Daniel Newman tweeted.
Newman, who is white, reported he has dined at the restaurant many moments even though sporting a tank top rated, a T-shirt or fitness center shorts.
“By no means had a difficulty finding a seat I guess my clothes appeared whiter,” he explained.
Bottoms, who is Black, entered office environment in 2018 and declared in 2021 that she would not look for re-election. She has joined CNN as a political commentator.
The Capital Grille has not publicly commented and did not reply to a request for remark Saturday.
