Faced with a desperate skills shortage, tech leaders plead for computer science reform in schools

The letter signees have committed to creating work possibilities for laptop or computer science college students in each American town and sector, from manufacturing to agriculture and onto healthcare. In addition, for many of the signees, this work will consist of internships, career pathway assets and funding for laptop or computer science training in underserved communities. 

The letter points out a notable deficit in America’s curriculum: “The United States sales opportunities the world in know-how, but only 5% of our superior school college students study laptop or computer science.”

Presently, 51% of schools present computer science, a significant leap from 35% in 2018.
